OUR SERVICES

WE SPECIALIZE IN COMMERCIAL MARINE CONSTRUCTION

DREDGING

Carolina Marine Structures has been dredging since 2004. Our company operates in all coastal and inland areas performing maintenance, new work dredging, beneficial wetland restoration, environmental remediation, and beach renourishment. Carolina Marine Structures own a wide array of work barges, long reach excavators, cranes, amphibious equipment, and hydraulic dredges. We have performed dredging in the ocean, inlets, lakes, bays, sounds, rivers, creeks, canals, ponds, and ditches.

ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION

The cleanup of hazardous substances deals with the removal, treatment and containment of pollution or contaminants from environmental media such as soil, groundwater, sediment. Led by a Registered Environmental Manager, Carolina Marine Structures has extensive experience with various remedial methodologies. We own and operate a full complement of dredges, pumps, filtration tanks, filter presses, centrifuges, pugmills, and related support equipment.

SWM & WETLAND RESTORATIONS

Increased enforcement of stormwater ordinances has led to the demand for specialized stormwater management providers. We specialize in wetland restoration projects. Anchored by our extensive experience in hydraulic thin layer placement of sediment, our work  includes backfilling ditches, constructing berms, controlling invasive weeds, excavation, installing water control structures, reconnecting floodplains and restoring backwaters, channels and bends, and removing and/or replacing culverts. Our extensive fleet of state-of-the-art, low ground pressure, and amphibious equipment is ideal for this work.

PILE DRIVING

Since inception, Carolina Marine Structures has striven to progressively seek out high-tech, modern machines, along with value engineering and ideas to revolutionize the pile driving industry. Our equipment is extremely versatile, powerful, and easy to move. We mobilize our own equipment landside using our in-house fleet of heavy haul trucks and trailers. We have a Carolina Marinell-maintained fleet of barges and push boats for in-water work and mobilization through our nation’s waterways. Typical applications include bulkheads, cofferdams, shoring, dolphins, foundations, piers, and helical piles.

LIVING SHORELINES

Living Shorelines encompass a range of shoreline stabilization techniques along estuarine coasts, bays, sheltered coastlines and tributaries. A living shoreline incorporates vegetation and/or other soft elements alone or in combination with harder shoreline structures (e.g. oyster reefs or rock sills) for added stability. They maintain continuity of the natural land-water interface and reduce erosion while providing habitat value and enhancing coastal resilience. We have installed Living Shorelines throughout the East Coast.

TRUCKING

Carolina Marine owns and operates a fleet of custom dump trucks designed specifically to haul wet, sloppy material. With a custom bed, lined, and sealed tailgates, Carolina Marine trucks are perfect for hauling contaminated materials. When not busy on Carolina Marine projects they are available for hire.
